Retail Monetization Update (Phased Rollout)
-
Will this add too many links or make my content look spammy?
-
Will this conflict with my existing affiliate links or Nova?
1. What is this update?
As of May 7th, we're introducing a new way to help you earn more from retail-focused content you’ve already published.
This update identifies relevant product mentions already in your articles and turns some of them into affiliate links, helping capture revenue opportunities that may otherwise be missed.

2. How does it relate to Nova?
Think of this as an extension of Nova.
Nova continues to detect shopping intent and open relevant retail offers in a separate tab when readers interact with your content.
This new layer focuses inside the page itself, adding contextual affiliate links to product mentions that would otherwise remain unmonetized, while leaving your existing links and setup as they are.
3. Why was my site selected?
Your site was selected because your content already shows strong retail intent and is a strong fit for this rollout.
This helps us make sure the experience is relevant and valuable for both you and your readers.
4. Do I need to install anything new?
No.
This uses the same Stay22 script already running on your site. As long as your script is live and up to date, no additional setup or code changes are needed.
5. What changes on my site?
Some existing product mentions in your content may become clickable affiliate links.
These links are:
- Added only where they feel natural and relevant
- Designed not to replace your own links or banners
- Added without changing your page layout or templates
Your content stays the same, and you remain in control.
You can request exclusions for specific pages by contacting your Partner Success Associate.
6. How are links selected?
We look for strong, relevant product mentions in your content that aren't monetized and turn them into monetized links where they feel natural and useful for readers.
Only the most relevant opportunities are kept, with a focus on content quality and user experience.
7. Will this add too many links or make my content look spammy?
No.
Keeping the reading experience clean is one of the main priorities of this rollout.
The system prioritizes maximizing monetization without degrading user experience, focusing on adding only strong, relevant link opportunities where they feel natural and useful for readers.
8. Will this affect my SEO or slow down my site?
No.
This update uses the same lightweight Stay22 script already running on your site.
It does not change your page structure, replace your content, or add heavy assets that impact site speed.
It also follows SEO best practices for affiliate links, including proper affiliate link declarations (rel = "sponsored") — Google’s recommended approach for paid and affiliate links Google Search Central — opening links in a new tab (target = "_blank"), which does not affect PageRank flow, and transparent destination tracking without link cloaking.
9. Will this conflict with my existing affiliate links or Nova?
No.
Your existing affiliate links remain exactly as they are.
This update is designed to add monetization only where links do not already exist.
10. Will I see this separately in my dashboard?
Transactions from this update will appear under your existing retail provider reporting, alongside your other retail earnings.
There won’t be a separate standalone section at launch.
More detailed visibility may be added in future improvements.
11. Can I opt out or exclude specific pages?
Yes.
You can:
- Opt out of the rollout entirely
- Request exclusions for specific pages (for example, sponsored content)
Your existing Nova setup will remain in place.
If you need help, you can contact us at support@stay22.com or use the chatbot in the Hub or in the bottom-right corner of our website.
12. What should I expect from this rollout timeline?
This update is being introduced gradually as we monitor performance, partner feedback, and overall impact.
The goal is to ensure the experience works well for both partners and readers before expanding it more broadly.
If anything changes that affects your setup, we’ll communicate it clearly in advance.
13. How can I see which pages have these links?
These links appear as normal text links within your content, just like any other hyperlink already on your site.
When hovering over a link, the destination URL will include a Stay22 redirect link (for example: stay22.com/allez/...) before sending readers to the final retailer page.
This rollout does not currently include a dedicated in-Hub view showing every page and link added, so the easiest way to identify them is directly on your live content.
14. Can I provide direct feedback?
Yes. Please reach out to your Partner Success Associate or contact Support at support@stay22.com
We’re working closely with a small group of partners during this rollout to gather direct feedback and improve the experience before broader availability.
If you’d like to be part of this Partner Council, let us know—we’d love to hear from you.
